William R. Phelan is an executive specializing in corporate affairs, recognized for his career in operations, institutional relations, and strategic business development. He currently serves as the President of Tropicalia and Country Manager for the Dominican Republic.

 

He began his career with the Cisneros Organization in 1998 and has since held various positions within the group’s companies, including Venevisión International, Fundación Cisneros, Tropicalia, and Fundación Tropicalia. Through these experiences, he has gained specialized knowledge in the television, real estate, tourism, nonprofit, and corporate sustainability sectors. Under his leadership, these companies have received numerous awards for their strong management and commitment to corporate sustainability. He actively participates in several boards of directors and working committees in the country.

 

William earned his BA in Political Science from Boston University and also participated in the Corporate Social Responsibility program at Harvard Business School. Married with two daughters, William is a general aviation enthusiast, a pilot for nearly 30 years, and a passionate road cyclist.
